The new Investigatory Powers Commissioner (IPC), Lord Justice Fulford, takes on responsibility for regulating and overseeing how public authorities use the investigatory powers available to them under existing law. He takes over from the former Surveillance, Interception of Communications and Intelligence Services Commissioners.
